SPUDDING & DRILLING RIGS
B3
The Museum’s big Spudder was built in 1923 by the Clark Machine Company of Wichita Falls, Texas. It is a Model 66 Wichita Falls Spudder and was donated to the Museum by Cecil H. Schaffner. It was moved to Nocona from its previous location near Petrolia. This particular spudder was used to drill more than a thousand wells in the Burkburnett Oil Field and other locations throughout Texas.
