Central Paris became the stage for political transformation as revolutionaries seized control of government.

• Tuileries Palace (1792) - Royal residence stormed, monarchy overthrown

• Place de la Révolution (now Place de la Concorde) - Site of the guillotine and royal executions

• Hôtel de Ville - City Hall where revolutionary government established power

Over 1,100 people were executed at Place de la Révolution during the Reign of Terror (1793-1794)
