What Is "Like New"?

Opening October 11, 2026, Roy Lichtenstein: Like New at the Whitney Museum of American Art is the first major exhibition dedicated to this defining American artist in more than 30 years. The show runs through May 10, 2027 and features over 130 works spanning six decades of Lichtenstein's career.

As noted by [Hube Magazine](https://hubemag.com/beyond-the-ben-day-dot-roy-lichtensteins-legacy-and-the-power-of-image-culture), the exhibition revisits his radical ideas by examining his enduring legacy through a contemporary lens of duplication, perception, and image culture. The title itself reflects a focus on the work he left behind following his sudden death in 1997, a period when his style shifted from bold outlines toward subtler explorations.

• Members preview: October 8, 2026

• Public opening: October 11, 2026

• More than 130 works across six decades

• Tickets: $30 admission
